The peaceful setting of Northside Farm was the venue for Jordan and Jess’s wedding in the summer of 2019.
Jess, a doctor, and Jordan, a teacher, had met us at one of the few wedding fayres we had done in 2018, and we went to visit them at their house where they booked their wedding video with us.
Northside Farm is set within 400 acres of farmland in the stunning Northumberland countryside. Run by the Lockey family, they have lovingly restored the 150-year-old barn into such a fantastic wedding venue.
What makes this venue so special is that guests can enjoy a weekend there so the party extends well into the Sunday whether you want to relax or have a BBQ.
On the morning of the wedding, I travelled to a lovely little cottage where Jess was staying in about a 15 minutes drive from Northside Farm. It was here I met up with photographer David E Williams and his wife Emma who were there shooting all of the bridal preparation. It was the second time we had shot a wedding with the couple having worked together on New Year's Eve the previous year.
It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere at the venue as Jess and her two bridesmaids, who were her sisters, were getting their hair and make-up done.
Whilst I was there Keith was at Northside Farm filming Jordan’s preparations with his groomsmen as well as capturing all of the preparation inside the barn.
Since we shot our first wedding there in 2018, the venue has developed a ceremony room which snuggly fits all your guests in for intimate ceremonies.
After the ceremony, the guests gathered in the courtyard for the reception drinks and it was here where we filmed some lovely moments with Jess and her grandfather embracing.
The wedding breakfast followed by the speeches were held in the stunning rustic barn with Jordan’s brother ribbing into him.
We managed to get out to film Jordan and Jess’s couple shots for around 10 minutes before it started raining. Northside Farm is blessed with some amazing locations to take photographs and film.
I was really looking forward to the evening party as there was a ceilidh organised and we got some great shots of Jordan and Jess letting down their hair dancing the night away.
But that wasn’t the end of the celebrations as there was a big surprise organised for the couple - a fireworks display.
