If there was one wedding that symbolised the love between a tight family unit it was Tina and Neil’s wedding at the Derwent Manor in the Northumberland and County Durham border.
This was the fourth time we had shot at the Derwent Manor Hotel and it was lovely being back especially as it was the very first wedding Keith and I had filmed a wedding video there.
I arrived bright and early at the venue where the hair and makeup were being done. It was nice to work again with Katie Rouse and Jemma Proctor again. Tina and her bridesmaids were well underway with their bridal preparations.
When the hair and makeup were coming to an end it was time for Neil to make his entrance. And it was a first for us as Neil drove himself to the venue in an articulated lorry.
It was a lovely ceremony with Tina’s son Dean giving her away to Neil whose heartfelt vows were interrupted by some of his tears. It was the perfect moment for him and his words were so sincere and loving.
The party was well and truly started with a surprise performance by singing waiters. When we find out that this form of entertainment is going to be on at the wedding we always get excited as it is always fun to film as guests really let themselves go. This party was no exception with some amazing high kicking from Tina’s son Dean and the staff from the Derwent Manor were also on their feet singing and dancing along.
After the performance, it was onto the night time celebrations with the evening guests arriving to dance the night away. Tina and Neil started their first dance and were joined by their family in such a poignant moment as they all took to the floor together.
